When I was a child, my parents always read me the story of The Little Match Girl, which seems to be faded away in the memory of younger generation. Inspired by the fairy tale from my childhood, the design recreates the simplest aesthetics of the everyday, lighting candle with matches. There are three forms when using the candle. First, the new candle is a holder for matches; second, as more matches are taken out to light the candle, the softened candle burns to a natural shape. Third, when all matches are used up, the hollowed candle will project a unique candlelight, as a trace of time.

蜡烛与火材。大概每个人在小时候听过一个故事：卖火柴的小女孩。但在打火机取代火柴的今天，现在的孩子可能会对这样的故事越来越陌生。这一款蜡烛将火柴放在中心位，企图还原火柴点燃蜡烛这一日常事物最根本的美学表现。在人们使用产品的过程中，蜡烛形态发生三种变化：第一种是全新蜡烛，蜡烛本身作为储存火柴的空间。二者融为一体。第二种是在燃烧过程中，随着火柴被逐渐抽取出来用以点燃蜡烛，软化后的蜡烛产生了随机的自然形态。第三种是等到火柴用完之后，镂空的蜡烛随烛光所产生的光影效果，重新生成了带有时间痕迹的独一无二的形态。
